When you’re hanging out at home in our UT student living with roommates and friends, what’s your favorite group activity? If you’re a fan of gaming, this post is perfect for you! These couch co-op video games provide approachable gameplay options for up to 4 players regardless of skill level. Let’s get into the details of some of our favorite couch co-op games!

Snipperclips

If puzzle games are your cup of tea, Snipperclips might be perfect for you and 1-3 other players. This game offers simple gameplay that requires you to work together to cut complex shapes out of player-controlled “Paper Pals.” This game relies on communication, visualization, and imagination, making it one of the more cerebral choices on our list, though it is by no means stuffy or boring.

Overcooked 2

If you enjoy time trials, chaotic gameplay, and task delegation, the Overcooked series is for you! When you play with up to 4 players in this cooking simulation game, you’ll work together to prep, cook, and serve increasingly complex dishes in increasingly complex kitchen environments. This game is bound to have you laughing and shouting with your teammates as you work against the clock—just don’t play with people who work better alone!

Rayman Legends

This classic platformer combines seamless gameplay with great character design, frenetic energy, and a charmingly irreverent attitude. Perfect for 2 players, you’ll work together to make your way through engaging time trials, rescues, and other platforming challenges, unlocking new characters and levels along the way. This game is endlessly fun and a great way to unwind at the end of a long day of classes.

Castle Crashers

An irreverent hack-and-slash adventure for up to four players, Castle Crashers provides a fun and easy gameplay experience that features a few crass jokes and plenty of slapstick humor. The game also features a few RPG-style elements allowing you to customize your character build slightly over time, making this a fun option for folks who play together often.
